He holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Medical Zoology from the University of Puerto Rico-Medical Sciences Campus, with over a decade of experience in microbiology, bioinformatics, and biomedical research. His academic and professional trajectory has focused on the intersections of microbial ecology, health disparities, and omics technologies, particularly in Hispanic populations.
Dr. Tosado-Rodríguez has been an active member of the Puerto Rico Society of Microbiologists since 2017 and has proudly represented Puerto Rico at international meetings, including ISME, ASM Microbe, and IPVC. He also serves as a journal reviewer and mentor for graduate students and early-career scientists in the island’s scientific community. Eduardo believes the PRSM plays a key role in supporting the next generation of microbiologists and in creating platforms for professional growth and research visibility.
As councilor on the Executive Board, Eduardo is enthusiastic about contributing to strategic planning, promoting interdisciplinary collaborations, and helping organize scientific events that highlight the diverse contributions of our local microbiology community. He looks forward to supporting the PRSM’s mission while learning from experienced board members and giving back to the organization that has supported his own development.
