Angélica M. Rosado-Quiñones, Ph.D.

Dr. Angélica M. Rosado Quiñones earned her Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus and completed a prestigious postdoctoral fellowship at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). With extensive expertise in microbiology, public health, and infectious diseases, Dr. Rosado Quiñones is deeply committed to advancing science education and increasing STEM opportunities throughout Puerto Rico, especially in microbiology-related fields.

In 2024, Dr. Rosado Quiñones served as Treasurer of the Puerto Rico Society of Microbiologists (PRSM), during which she notably secured the organization's IRS 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. Her efforts modernized PRSM’s financial infrastructure through the creation of a comprehensive digital platform, including a professional website and the implementation of an Ath Móvil Business account in collaboration with the Social Media Committee. These contributions significantly improved transparency and member engagement.

As the newly elected PRSM Secretary, Dr. Rosado Quiñones envisions a transparent, collaborative environment within the Executive Board, fostering open communication and inclusivity. Her goals include streamlining interactions between the Board and PRSM members, ensuring clarity and accessibility. Additionally, she aims to lead the revision and modernization of PRSM's Manual of Procedures and ByLaws, aligning them with contemporary, post-COVID operational realities. Dr. Rosado Quiñones is dedicated to attracting new talent and perspectives to PRSM, continually inspiring innovation and dynamic participation among Puerto Rico’s microbiology professionals.
